Is This Legal To Do?
Copyright law allows a person to make a copy of any musical recording they have purchased for their own personal use. CD's that we create are for personal non-commercial use only. It is illegal for a person to duplicate copies for the purpose of re-selling or distributing. If you have the copyright to the recorded material then the above restrictions do not apply.
What Type Of Transfers to CD Do You Perform?
Single source: One entire recorded LP transfer to CD.
Multiple Source: Two or more LP's making up an album set transferred to CD.
Complication Transfers: Transferring songs off different selections off LP's, or commercial CD's. If you want you can create your own complication transfer on to a cassette and have us transfer it to CD. Make sure you have a few seconds of silence between each selection so that tracks can be assigned. Remember the quality of the CD will be only as good as your source, equipment, and expertise. Technically inferior recordings will result in the CD being the same.
Demo CD's: Individual or group entertainers just starting out in the business make demo CD's to promote their musical talents. We can duplicate your sound on to quality CD's. If you choose, we can also add your own personal artwork and track list to your CD jewel case.
CD's can be track indexed to correspond with the album cuts. Live albums in many cases do not have the 1 to 2 second spacing between each track making it difficult to determine where the division is and takes much more work time to successfully accomplish indexing. If you submit a live album and wish track division we will try to estimate as close as possible where to index each track. Because of the time consumption needed there will be a extra charge.
Do You Transfer Other Formats Besides Music?
No. At the present time we are only doing LP's (33 1/3 speed)
What Type of Noises Can Be Successfully Removed Or Eliminated?
The most common noises we remove or diminish are: Scratches, crackles, pops, vinyl hiss, static noise, hum, clicks and ticks.
If the scratch is very severe (the underlying music is gone for a considerable amount of time) there will be a trace of a pop in the restored version. In some cases it is more desirable to apply less severe processing, which may leave occasional imperfections more audible. We would like our customers to be aware of these trade-offs.
Can You Remove Distortion?
A recording is only as good as the recording equipment used. Defective or faulty equipment, poor monitoring of the sound being recorded can be causes for distortion. If your LP is distorted, the transfer CD will also be distorted.
How Safe Is My Media?
Every care is taken to protect your media. You original recordings will be returned back to you along with the new CD. LP's will be cleaned carefully before recording unless stated otherwise by you.
What If I Decide To Mail You My Media?
You will be responsible for secure packaging and mailing costs in sending your media to us. We will not be responsible for any damage to your Media before arriving to us so it is important that it is properly packed.
When Do I Pay For Your Service?
When you deliver or send your Media source to us. All you have to do is indicate what pricing you prefer in the transfer of your Media source. We use state-of-the-art audio equipment, both hardware and software in transferring your media recording to CD.
How Long Does It Take?
About 10 to 14 days from the time we receive your Media source plus the time it takes to send you recordings back to you. Time may increase depending on work load or more needed info.
At the present time we are running 3 to 4 weeks for completion of orders due to the increase of media transfer orders that has occured recently.
